Quarantine

Anything that isn't delivered straight to a user's inbox goes to quarantine — we keep every accepted message; nothing is deleted without your decision.

What ends up in quarantine

Any accepted message that isn't delivered straight to a user's inbox goes to quarantine: spam, viruses, phishing, and messages blocked by rules or the blacklist. We keep absolutely everything we accept — nothing is deleted or lost without your decision. The sender still receives a delivery acknowledgment (a 250 code), so spammers don't learn the message was blocked.

Viewing quarantine

The Quarantine section of the control panel shows every held message: subject, sender, date, score, and the reason it was blocked. You can open and read a message right in the browser.

Actions on messages

User notifications

If digests are enabled, each user gets a periodic email listing held messages. A link in the email lets them deliver or delete a message without logging into the control panel.

Retention period

By default, quarantined messages are kept for 30 days, then deleted automatically. This period can be changed in the domain settings.
